Common questions
Frequently asked.
What contaminants does the Valinor Pitcher filter target?
Valinor reduces 75+ contaminants, roughly 15× more than a typical pitcher filter. Among them:
- Chlorine and disinfection byproducts (HAA5, TTHMs), associated with bladder cancer
- Lead and heavy metals, associated with nervous system damage and learning disabilities
- Microplastics
- PFAS / PFOA / PFOS, the "forever chemicals" associated with cancer and reduced fertility
- Pharmaceuticals and hormones
- VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
Filter media independently tested to NSF/ANSI 42, 53, and 401 standards. IAPMO certification forthcoming.
What's the pitcher made of?
Borosilicate glass body and 304 stainless steel filter housing. The same materials used in laboratory glassware and medical instruments.
How much water does it hold?
10 cups (2.4 liters / 80 oz), enough for a household of 2–4 without constant refilling.
How much does the pitcher weigh?
About 6 lbs empty and 11 lbs filled. That's roughly 2–3× heavier than a typical plastic pitcher. Borosilicate glass and stainless steel are denser than plastic. We think the trade-off is worth it.
How long does it take to filter?
Roughly 2.5 minutes per liter when the filter is fresh. Flow rate slows gradually over the filter's life as it captures more contaminants, which is normal for a sub-micron filter.
How long does the filter last?
Each filter is rated for about 100 gallons or 90 days of typical use. Subscriptions are timed to that schedule: a fresh filter arrives before your current one is spent, and we remind you by email or text when it’s time to swap.
How does the subscription work?
Your first filter ships inside the pitcher box. Replacement filters then arrive every 90 days at $65, billed automatically. You can pause, skip, change address, or cancel anytime through your customer portal.
The $299 preorder price is all-in: the pitcher, your first filter (in the box), and enrollment in the filter subscription. There’s no separate charge to start the subscription.
When will it ship?
Fall 2027 is our current estimate. Preorder timelines can shift, but we’ve set this one conservatively, and we’ll email you as the date firms up. You’re charged at preorder and can cancel anytime before shipment for a full refund.
What if I don't like my order?
Cancel anytime before shipment from your customer portal for a full refund. After delivery, you have 60 days to return it for a full refund.
